One of the most remarkable discoveries at Shifting Sands is this preform with several pieces of the channel flakes attached. You will note the large "first flute" channel flake is sitting on the preform. The second flute is on the bottom and has 3 pieces. Apparently the piece was still too think so the knapper removed an additional flute from the second side. These were collected over a number of years--still hopes for find a few others of the second flute.
